WHY should you donate?
Good question. You don't have to, it's completely optional. But consider this:

This site has always offered original background images for free and i would like to keep it that way. However, there is considerable cost involved with running a web site like this one; for example, since the site got bigger the web hosting fees are higher.

This site is very popular and gets a massive amount of traffic which becomes very expensive in terms of bandwidth used. Income generated by the banner ads is not always enough to cover the cost of maintaining the site, so donations help in a big way.

More donations also mean that i can continue to say no to pop-up ads. I find them most annoying and do not want to inflict them on the visitors to this site.

Plus of course there's all the time it takes to create the background images and maintain the web site, all for free!
